Hospice Clerk

Department: Hospice
Status: Part-time, 64 hours per pay
Schedule: Weekdays, between 8:00am-5:00pm

Requirements: High school diploma required, at least one year of previous medical clerical experience is strongly preferred. Must be highly proficient in computer usage for word processing and database operations. Effective written and verbal communication, ability to handle multiple tasks with ease, portray a professional demeanor, strong organization skills and attention to detail, ability to maintain confidentiality, are all essential.


Responsibilities: Performs a variety of clerical duties requiring initiative and sound judgment for several professional, administrative and/or managerial colleagues. Also orders supplies, maintains patient records, mails physician orders, functions as department receptionist.

 

Medical Biller

Department: Advanced Orthopedic & Pain Institute
Status: Full-time, 80 hours per pay
Schedule: Monday - Friday normal business hours

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one to two years of third party billing or claims processing preferred. Background in medical terminology, strong knowledge of billing forms, ICD-9, CPT and HCPCS codes. Experience in hospital collections and billing practices strongly preferred.


Responsibilities: Submits insurance claims to various insurance companies and conducts all follow-up on unpaid claims. Posts payments as needed to patient encounters. Must be customer service oriented, highly discrete, able to routinely handle confidential materials, and mange multiple priorities and assignments.

 

Medical Records Clerk

Department: Advanced Orthopedic & Pain Institute
Status: Full-time, 80 hours per pay
Schedule: Monday - Friday, first shift, 40 hours per week

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; must demonstrate working knowledge of HIPAA laws and best practices; Prefer a minimum of one year experience in orthopedic clinic, medical office, or hospital setting.


Responsibilities: Preparing charts for upcoming office visits, gathering data on patients prior to appointments, sending out medical records to various entities, operator duties, and helping the scheduling department with various duties.
